Additional Comments:
Nala is quiet when readying for bed or when owner is within sight. She, like all Eclectus, can also be quiet vocal when she feels neglected. She gives good signals to what she does/doesn't like, and talks very clearly ("hello Nala", "pretty baby", "stop it", among many other things). I am sure she could easily learn more vocabulary if given more one-on-one training. We are moving in a few months, and do not want to haul her large cage across the country. Nala comes with a beautiful cage (acquired when we purchased her two years ago; value of cage estimated at $1,000). She now has an additional 'bed-time' cage which she chooses to perch in at night ($100). She is very entertaining to watch and loves one-on-one time. She is a great deal for $750 with accessories (including special food from FL). The vet estimated her to be 6 years old. Anytime we put a bed in the cage, she 'nests' and has laid 3 eggs in the past year. As we are not interested in breeding her, we do not put a bed in her cage. We assume she is a potential breeder.
