We like to describe Sydney as a lady with a sense of humor. She is very sweet and gentle. In fact, our vet has commented on just how gentle and special she is. She has never shown us a mean spirit. The only time she would show a negative temperament or bite is if she felt a very real fear, that you will know by the warning sound she will make first when she feels uncomfortable about something. She is cautious and takes the time to analyze a situation or new things.... (read more) She loves to sing and laugh and says many words, sentences, and phrases. Thankfully, her voice is not loud. Syd always speaks and sings in a pleasant voice. She also picks up and learns new things very quickly with minimal effort on our part. It's always been funny to us that when company is over, her sense of humor really comes alive and she is real chatty with others, but keeps her distance. At the end of the day, she prefers close companionship with one person who is female. Because of her preference, it is important to us that her primary caregiver is a female.
We have really enjoyed having her as part of our family, but we are saddened that we don't get to spend the time with her that she deserves. The ideal situation is someone who will be home more often with her and who already has knowledge and experience with birds. We are also including her cage with her, we purchased it last year.
Location and info: We live in North Florida and will negotiate to meet people to ease transportation of her but we will not ship her as we feel it will stress her. Thank you.
