Rehoming my female cockatoo. Not sure of exact age but thinking she is around 5. We are rehoming her for a couple of reasons. First of all I am working full time now and she does not get the attention she needs and deserves. Secondly the kids are still not very fond of her and are afraid of her plus with their asthma I've decided the best thing for her and our family is to find her a new, loving and hopefuly permanent home. She comes with a large cage that is only about a year old, plus a large playstand and her travel cage.... (read more) I will also include all toys, food and treats that she has. She needs to go to someone experienced with large birds. She is a cockatoo so she does have temper tantrums and screaming fits that last about 10 minutes. She is tame but has days that she doesn't want to be touched. She has never bitten me but I have always backed off when she gives me warning signs. She is not a plucker, but has some tattered feathers due to over preening. She is use to about 12 hours sleep in a dark bedroom otherwise she gets very hormonal and irritable. Must pick up from me as I don't have a truck able to haul her cage.
