Meet Winston: A wild-type male flying free, he flew to a shoulder for safety, owner could not be located but showed signs of neglect. Winston is strong, the color of thunderclouds and loves to sing loud and proud. Meet Pie: As sweet as her name, a gorgeous female pearl who loves to chatter and forage. Found in a closet during an eviction, no one knows anything about her except she was very loved before she was utterly neglected.
Rescued separately, paired together as friends, free-flying indoors only.... (read more) They come with one or two large cages, as they now cohabitate. Vet checked to be healthy adults estimated to be between 4-5 years old. This is not a breeding pair, they've both been through so much and Winston may become hostile if they are protecting hatchlings. I have rehabbed them and paired them successfully. We're now working on friendliness. Winston can be very protective of Pie but he rides on my head and shoulders. They need patience but I'm convinced they will be good companions for the right home since Pie has started swooping at me and landing nearby and going in for a face nuzzle then flying off playfully. Fine with other pets and older children, they really shine as a rescue project for a Cockatiel lover. Winston in particular likes to land on our calm old Chihuahua. Both light up when I sing and whistle to them and watch me closely, following me through the house on the wing.
I am only asking for money to cover some of the vet bills incurred in rescue and rehab. These are sweet, special birds and I want them to go to the right home. I need to move them out to make room for the next rescues! You can have one or both cages but they prefer to live in one together now. I am happy to share video and additional pictures if you are interested in seeing more or meeting them.
