Sampson is a Moluccan Cockatoo that is continuing to learn how to be more social. He is VERY LOUD at times during the day and early evening.
We were told that he was rescued by firefighters years ago but unfortunately his elderly owners didn't survive the effects of the fire. When thrown out the window he hit beak first on the ground. (read more) Bennett our avian vet confirmed he is in good health. She estimates him to be around 35-40 years old. He is slowly learning to tolerate being handled for longer periods of time. He is a very picky eater and much like a toddler he will like something for a few weeks and then not eat it any more. He readily goes to bed at night when we turn out the lights. He does not talk but loves music and dancing and turning around in circles around the perch in his cage. He is going to take a lot of work and I am not going to rush into finding a home for him as we have had him for many years and this isn't an easy thing for me to do.

He will come with his cage and a large perch but no travel cage so please be prepared to bring a transport cage if you are serious about potentially buying him. He has been around our very elderly blue and gold macaw, our dogs as well as our sulcata tortoise.

Due to changes in my husband's health that have effected his hearing, he can't tolerate Sampson's loud squawking throughout the day otherwise I would not be selling him. You must live in WA in order to be considered as a potential new owner. Thank you.
