Chewy is a Ruby Macaw - Half Scarlet and half Green Wing. With his best interests in mind, I've made the difficult decision to rehome him. -
There are a few requirements, and they are NOT NEGOTIABLE.

Chewy has a preference for men and has jealousy issues. He must be the ONLY bird in the house. The owner must have experience with large birds and be located in Arizona. Chewy is a scarlet macaw hybrid; therefore, he cannot be shipped.... (read more) A few of the replies I received previously were from individuals who thought their bird could be the exception that Chewy would be willing to share a human with. NO, IT WOULDN'T.

When Chewy is one-on-one with someone, he is a phenomenal bird. He's a good talker, funny, weird, silly, and sometimes he dances to whatever music happens to be playing. He's a goofy, loving bird wanting to spend time with you. When another bird is nearby and you interact with it, Chewy experiences a jealous rage. Sometimes it takes him days to recover from it. Your other bird(s) will never be the exception, and you will only put yourself in danger of a nasty bite. I have pictures to prove it. This is why Chewy requires someone with experience who won't put themselves in danger and then blame the bird for their own stupid mistake. The fee is to ensure that the right person comes along who not only appreciates his beauty but also understands the requirements.
