This is a bonded pair and will be sold together only. Both caiques have been genetically tested for their sex. No shipping. Pickup near Dallas, TX. Cash only. Price is firm. They will come with a cage and wood nesting box. They have not mated yet, but I expect that any day.

Male: "Chico" is very friendly has never bit anyone. According to previous owner, he is approximately nine years old. Chico is a big goofball. He walks backwards in circles, walks upside down in his cage, taps his foot on the floor, climbs kitchen drawers, and more funny stuff.... (read more) He was three years old when we got him. He has a band.

Female: "Kiki is more reserved. Her birthday is 2/14/2019. Do not handle her without leather gloves and never allow her near your face. We handle her without gloves, but after being bit in the face by her, it was a long time before I let her near my face again. In her defense, the one time she bit me I was taking her to the shower which she hated. Kiki is the talker. She says "Peek-a-boo" and "Hiiiii!" very clearly. She also tries to say "Pretty bird." Kiki loves to play in wet hair. We've had her since she was 3 months old.

We got Chico in August of 2019 and it was love at first sight between these two. They love taking a bath in their water bowl which almost ruined our laminate floors. Now they use a water bottle. And both of them whistle different little tunes, including the theme to Adam's Family. Kiki is jealous of attentions given to Chico while he is in the cage with her. Kiki mostly wants to be loved and played with. Chico is happy on the floor or on your arm - he's a happy bird. Kiki has always had a box to sleep in. I tried getting her to sleep without a box (after she shredded half of it) and she cried until midnight. I had to fetch the box from the recycle bin for her before she would sleep.
